Avery Sunshine
Avery Sunshine, a singer-composer famous for his distinctive blend of soul gospel jazz R&B as well as R&B. She has appeared on stages all over the world, from Broadway through the Democratic National Convention to the European music scene and the club scenes. Sunshine has the name Denise White. While she now lives in Atlanta she was born in Chester Pennsylvania. Her musical path began at church, where she sang and performed piano. After graduation from Spellman College, Atlanta she embarked on her journey of music in Atlanta's R&B culture. The Fighting Temptations The first single featuring her voice was Stalk You a house 12 issued exclusively in Japan; it has since been remixed by many producers and remains the mainstay of her live sets. The Fighting Temptations was the other soundtrack she sang on. The year 2005 saw Tyler Perry hired her as his primary keyboardist for the stage production Meet the Browns. In 2007, Grammy and Tony Award-winning vocalist Jennifer Holliday sought her out to become the choral director for the stage production of Dreamgirls in the National Black Arts Festival in Atlanta. Sunshine was recognized nationally for her daily shows at the Democratic National Convention. She was later invited to sing at President Barack Obama's inaugural in 2009.
