John Denver is a popular artist and musician who has touched many people with his music. Most of his songs were inspired by Colorado. Born Henry John Deutschendorf Jr. in Roswell New Mexico he fell in the love of Colorado and then settled in Aspen. There were many who made their way toward Colorado after hearing Denver's popular tunes for the state he was raised in. G. Brown, curator of Colorado Music Hall of Fame stated it was because John Denver is the only performer to embody Colorado. In 2011, Denver was selected as the Hall of fame's first inductee. Denver is the symbol of Colorado for a lot of people all over the world. When you encounter people from different nations, including New Zealanders. They ask them "I am from Colorado" and they immediately reply with Oh John Denver. Brown said. Take Me Home Country Roads, co-written by Bill Danoff and Denver after his brief involvement with folk bands, was Denver's debut Top 10 solo hit. Danoff was the one who wrote the song to imitate the style of Johnny Cash, but Denver could hear an early version, and was certain it would become a top 10 smash. The artist recorded the song only a few days afterward following a performance to an enthusiastic audience in Washington D.C.
