Aaliyah Daniel Haughton made her way into fame in 1994 when she released the release of her first album Age Ain't Nothing but a Numer. The singer was barely fifteen when her debut album was released as Gold. It was done as an album that was heavily inspired by R. Kelly and it put the singer in the spotlight. In 1996 she worked alongside Jermaine Dupri as well as Timbaland to record her follow-up album One In A Million which contained the number-one hit single If Your Girl Only Knew. Aaliyah was a well-known R&B singer after the album's release. She starred with martial arts legend Jet Li in the romance-action film Romeo Must Die. Joel Silver, film producer and director of the film Romeo Must Die, spotted her at an awards ceremony. In 2002, she was involved in the Anne Rice-produced thriller Queen of the Damned. Then she was introduced to the Matrix in the form of Zee on The Matrix Sequels having also performed as a character in The Matrix Reloaded in 2003 and The Matrix Revolutions in the same year. However, she uses both Aarti Mann and Aarti Majumdar for professional name. She began her acting career with minor TV and film roles, but her popularity was growing in the late 2000s. She has also appeared in Leverage, Suits, Grey's Anatomy and Grey's Anatomy. She's also appeared in major commercials for brands like Volvo the world's largest auto maker. She lives with her family in Los Angeles along with her husband, daughter and pursues her acting career.
